Primary Responsibilities
Epic Configuration & Enhancement
- Configure, maintain, and optimize Epic payer modules to support medical management workflows.
- Translate business needs into system design and configuration updates.
- Participate in enhancements, upgrades, and new feature rollouts.
- Perform detailed assessments of workflows, data structures, reporting needs, and system dependencies.
- Identify gaps, document findings, and recommend solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Work closely with operations, clinical teams, IT groups, and external partners to collect requirements and align system changes with organizational goals.
- Act as a trusted subject-matter expert for payer-related Epic functionality.
- Provide day-to-day support, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis for application-related problems.
- Collaborate with end users to resolve issues quickly while maintaining service-level expectations.
- Prepare system documentation, design specs, job aids, and technical reference materials.
- Support training teams by offering input on user education resources.
- Encourage adoption of standards and best practices across teams.
- Configure and maintain interfaces and data-exchange workflows in accordance with interoperability standards.
- Ensure all solutions comply with HIPAA, security, and regulatory requirements relevant to health data.
- Bachelor s degree or equivalent professional experience
- Epic certification(s) relevant to role responsibilities
- 3 years of experience in health IT, Epic applications, payer workflows, or related domains
- Strong understanding of healthcare data exchange, HIPAA, and security protocols
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and document solutions clearly
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
- Experience in a health plan, large health system, or academic medical environment
- Certification in Epic Tapestry, Epic Payer Platform, Cheers, Healthy Planet, or MyChart
- Hands-on experience supporting interoperability workflows or integration engines
