Job Summary:
We are seeking a Laboratory Technologist I to support water quality testing through chemical, physical, and microbiological analysis. This role involves assisting with laboratory operations, maintaining equipment, preparing reagents, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and assist in water quality testing (chemical, physical, microbiological)
- Prepare reagents, standards, and maintain lab supplies
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and glassware
- Support waste disposal and decontamination procedures
- Maintain QA/QC records and standard operating procedures
- Collect water samples as needed
- Provide basic training on lab procedures
- High school diploma or GED 2 years relevant experience
- 24 semester units in Chemistry, Microbiology, or related field
- Knowledge of laboratory practices, safety, and basic algebra
- Strong communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Requires standing, lifting, and working with laboratory equipment
- Exposure to chemicals; use of PPE required
