We're seeking a skilled and passionate OpenShift Systems Engineer to help lead our transformation from VMware to OpenShift Container Platform (OCP). This is a unique opportunity to be part of the first team fully migrating to OpenShift in our organization, shaping the future of our infrastructure in a dynamic development and lab environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage OpenShift (v4.12 ) clusters, with a strong focus on on-prem environments.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using OpenShift and GitLab CI.
- Automate cluster provisioning and maintenance using Ansible, Helm, and other tools.
- Monitor and optimize cluster performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Troubleshoot across infrastructure, platform, and container layers.
- Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to support containerized workloads and microservices.
- Document architecture, configurations, and migration processes.
- Provide mentorship and knowledge transfer to internal teams.
- 5 years as a Systems Administrator or Cloud Engineer.
- Deep hands-on experience with OpenShift OCP (v4.12 preferred).
- Strong background in VMware vSphere and virtualized on-prem workloads.
- Proficiency in automation tools like Ansible and Helm.
- Experience with CI/CD workflows and DevOps practices.
- Cloud platform experience.
- Broader systems administration background.
- Exposure to OpenShift Virtualization.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Self-driven with a collaborative mindset.
- Passion for automation, scalability, and operational excellence.
- Be a key player in a strategic migration from VMware to OpenShift.
