Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Architect with a strong background in the Healthcare Payer domain to design and lead scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions. This role will focus on building modern data platforms (Data Warehouse & Data Lake) and enabling interoperability aligned with healthcare standards such as HEDIS and FHIR.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on architect with deep expertise in healthcare data models, interoperability frameworks, and cloud-based data ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance data architectures supporting healthcare analytics and reporting.
- Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models for healthcare domains (Claims, Clinical, Member, Provider, EHR).
- Build and implement interoperability solutions aligned with USCDI / US Core standards.
- Architect and optimize data warehouses and data lakes for real-time and batch processing.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, and other healthcare data privacy regulations.
- Establish and enforce data governance frameworks ensuring data quality, integrity, and consistency.
- Evaluate and recommend data platforms, tools, and integration frameworks.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, data analysts, data scientists, and IT teams to align architecture with business goals.
- Optimize data pipelines for performance, scalability, and low latency.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and best practices guidance.
- Stay current with emerging technologies in healthcare data and analytics.
- 10 years of experience in Data Architecture, preferably in healthcare.
- Strong experience in Healthcare Payer domain.
- Expertise in cloud platforms: Azure / AWS / Google Cloud Platform.
- Deep knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards:
- HL7, FHIR, CCD, HIE, USCDI / US Core
- Strong programming and data processing skills:
- SQL, NoSQL, Python, PySpark
- Experience with data modeling tools (e.g., Erwin).
- Hands-on experience with data integration and ETL tools:
- Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Kafka, Informatica, IBM DataStage
- Solid understanding of data warehousing, data lakes, and big data architectures.
- Experience implementing data governance and security frameworks.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- 5 years working with large-scale healthcare data systems.
- 5 years designing interoperability solutions.
- Experience with modern data platforms:
- Databricks, Snowflake
- Familiarity with HEDIS measures and reporting.
- Experience working with EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner.
