Job Title: Data Analyst SME (Subject Matter Expert)

Location: Pleasanton, CA Onsite

We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst SME (Subject Matter Expert) to provide advanced data analysis, business insights, reporting, and data-driven recommendations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, expertise in data visualization and reporting tools, and the ability to translate complex datasets into actionable business insights for stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and business opportunities.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and scorecards using BI tools.
• Gather, interpret, and document business requirements for data analysis initiatives.
• Perform data validation, cleansing, and quality assurance activities.
• Create ad-hoc reports and perform root cause analysis to support business decisions.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product teams, and leadership to define KPIs and success metrics.
• Translate business requirements into analytical solutions and actionable recommendations.
• Design and optimize SQL queries for efficient data extraction and reporting.
• Present findings and insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Support data governance, data quality, and data management initiatives.
• Work closely with Data Engineers and Data Scientists to ensure data availability and accuracy.
• Identify process improvement opportunities through data analysis and automation.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• 8 years of experience as a Data Analyst, Business Data Analyst, Reporting Analyst, or Analytics Consultant.
• Strong experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Proficiency in data visualization tools such as:
• Tableau
• Microsoft Power BI
• Qlik Sense
• Looker
• Experience with data analysis using:
• Microsoft Excel
• Python
• R
• Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as:
• Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Microsoft Azure
• Google Cloud Platform
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Knowledge of statistical analysis and predictive analytics.
• Familiarity with machine learning concepts.
• Experience with data governance and master data management.
• Industry experience in Retail Domain
• Relevant certifications in Data Analytics, BI, or Cloud technologies.
