Description
The Critical Environment Technician will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of centrifugal chiller systems in mission-critical environments. This role requires understanding in chillers and a strong understanding of mechanical systems, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on centrifugal chillers, with emphasis on Trane systems.
Conduct eddy current testing on condenser and evaporator tubes as part of biennial/triennial maintenance routines.
Monitor evaporator approach temperatures, refrigerant levels, and system performance using integrated control panels.
Document irregularities and escalate issues per global maintenance standards.
Collaborate with CE Managers and site teams to ensure chiller systems meet operational and safety standards.
Maintain accurate records in CMMS and change management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience with centrifugal chillers, including Trane systems.
Familiarity with variable speed drives (VSD/VFD) and associated maintenance procedures.
Certification in mechanical systems is a plus.
Strong understanding of mechanical diagnostics, fluid dynamics, and heat exchange principles.
Experience in data center operations or other critical infrastructure environments.
Ability to work independently and escalate issues appropriately.
Required: All candidates must hold an OSHA or OSHA-approved NFPA 70E Certification
Required: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Required: 2 year(s) Experience with electrical systems in a high availability assembly / manufacturing / critical infrastructure environment such as data centers, oil and gas refineries, hospitals, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or related fields.
Required: Able to work a flexible work schedule which could include weekends
Required: Basic understanding of how to use Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word)
SHIFT - Work schedule may vary by day and shift.
