What You’ll Do
- Orchestrate comprehensive environmental compliance programs across multiple production facilities to ensure seamless adherence to all governing mandates.
- Execute rigorous site inspections and diagnostic audits, tracking findings with precision to guarantee total operational transparency.
- Synthesize corrective action plans to remediate code violations, serving as the lead technical consultant for resolving production and quality-related bottlenecks.
- Monitor the lifecycle of all environmental permits, licenses, and applications, ensuring every record aligns with current legal and regulatory benchmarks.
- Engineer internal operational policies and procedural frameworks that standardize compliance across the entire business unit.
- Empower internal stakeholders through specialized technical training, enhancing organizational competency and commitment to environmental protocols.
- Maintain and optimize proprietary compliance tracking systems, delivering high-level monthly updates to leadership regarding program status and audit outcomes.
- Navigate the intricacies of local, state, and federal regulations to provide proactive guidance and mitigate risk during ongoing facility projects.
- Educational Foundation: A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or a relevant technical discipline is required.
- Industry Expertise: 4–8 years of dedicated experience within the meat, poultry, or protein processing sectors.
- Technical Proficiency: Deep working knowledge of 40 CFR regulations and a current Wastewater license.
- Regulatory Command: A comprehensive understanding of the federal, state, and local regulatory landscape governing industrial food production.
- Audit Acumen: Proven ability to identify discrepancies and architect effective, long-term solutions for technical and environmental issues.
- Mobility: Flexibility to engage in occasional travel to support regional facility requirements.
