The Azure Architect will focus on advisory, design, and hands-on configuration tasks:
Location & Work Arrangement
- Location: Richmond, Virginia
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid (On-site is REQUIRED 2-3 days per week.)
- Contract: This is a Contract position (1 year expected duration).
- Mode of Interview: Initial Virtual (Webcam) interview, with the right reserved for an In-Person follow-up interview.
- Note: The selected candidate will be required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).
The Azure Architect will focus on advisory, design, and hands-on configuration tasks:
- Architecture & Advisory: Advise agencies on architecture and security concerns associated with Azure, specifically focusing on in-place migrations and refactoring.
- Migration Strategy: Make recommendations for lift and shift strategies and complex on-premise to cloud-native migrations.
- Refactoring: Provide expert recommendations and configurations for refactoring services within the existing Azure environment.
- Configuration: Perform hands-on configurations primarily to Azure-based services in support of agency-level objectives.
- MVP Testing: Conduct testing within Azure to demonstrate the Minimal Viable Product (MVP) of a proposed architecture.
- Ecosystem Knowledge: Maintain a deep understanding of available COV (Commonwealth of Virginia), MSI, and other connected party offerings to ensure compliant and integrated solutions.
- Communication: Clearly and effectively articulate technical experience and complex architectural decisions to diverse stakeholders.
- Senior-Level Azure Architecture: Proven, senior-level technical experience as an Azure Cloud Architect.
- Cloud Migration: Deep experience with Azure migrations, including lift and shift and converting on-premise solutions to cloud-native services.
- Security: Strong understanding of security concerns and best practices within the Azure cloud environment.
- Demonstrable Skills: Ability to make configurations, test architectures (MVP), and drive refactoring efforts.
- Exceptional Communication: Solid written and oral communication skills are mandatory for articulating complex technical concepts and presenting clear recommendations to management and technical teams.
