Description
Perform cable pulls and correctly terminate copper and fiber cables (e.g., Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, coaxial, etc.).
Configure patch panels, cable trays, racks, and other cable management hardware.
Implement and maintain efficient cable management systems, including bundling cables and ensuring proper bend radii to include pathway planning and cable routing.
Perform regular inspections and audits of cable pathways to identify potential hazards or inefficiencies.
Repair or replace damaged cables, connectors, or hardware as needed.
Create detailed infrastructure diagrams using software tools (e.g., Visio, AutoCAD) when required.
Communicate project updates and escalate challenges as needed to relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications
Certification in structured cabling or networking (e.g., BICSI, CompTIA Network , or similar) is a plus.
Proven experience in low-voltage cabling, cable management, or a related field and proficiency in using cable testers and diagnostic tools.
DOD TS/SCI is required to start this position.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of structured cabling standards (e.g., EIA/TIA 568, ANSI standards) to include NIST and TEMPEST standards.
Familiarity with data infrastructure requirements for networks, telecommunications, and fiber optics.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and ability to interpret technical blueprints and diagrams.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under deadlines.
Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

- The Cable Management Technician is responsible for the installation, organization, labeling, troubleshooting, and maintenance of cabling systems for structured networks, telecommunications, and data infrastructure.
