Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst (BSA) with strong expertise in Claims and Disputes within the banking, payments, or financial services domain. The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams, gathering requirements, analyzing processes, and delivering system solutions for dispute lifecycle management, chargebacks, fraud claims, payment investigations, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:

- Work closely with business users, operations teams, product owners, and IT teams to gather and document functional and technical requirements.
- Analyze current claims and disputes processes and identify opportunities for automation and optimization.
- Prepare BRDs, FRDs, user stories, use cases, workflow diagrams, and process maps.
- Conduct gap analysis between legacy and target systems.
- Strong understanding of credit card disputes, debit card disputes, ACH claims, wire disputes, chargebacks, fraud claims, merchant disputes, and payment investigations.
- Experience with dispute lifecycle from intake, validation, investigation, evidence collection, resolution, and settlement.
- Knowledge of Visa, Mastercard, NACHA, Reg E, Reg Z, UCC, CFPB, and other compliance standards.
- Familiarity with SLA handling, case prioritization, escalation workflows, and customer communication processes.
- Translate business needs into system specifications for developers and QA teams.
- Collaborate with development teams on APIs, workflow systems, case management tools, and backend integrations.
- Support UAT, SIT, regression testing, and production validation.
- Assist in data mapping, reporting, and dashboard requirements.
- Coordinate with operations, fraud, compliance, legal, and customer service teams.
- Facilitate workshops, requirement sessions, and status meetings.
- Provide business recommendations based on domain expertise and industry best practices.
- 8 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst / Business Analyst.
- 5 years of experience in Claims and Disputes domain within banking or payments industry.
- Strong knowledge of chargeback systems, claims management platforms, payment operations, and dispute workflows.
- Experience with Agile / Scrum / Waterfall methodologies.
- Strong SQL skills for data analysis and reconciliation.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, Visio, Excel, and reporting tools.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with payment platforms such as Fiserv, TSYS, First Data, FIS, ACI, Jack Henry, or Core Banking systems.
- Exposure to fraud systems and risk platforms.
- Knowledge of APIs, REST services, and system integrations.
- Certification such as CBAP, CCBA, PMP, Scrum is a plus.
