This role supports strategic initiatives focused on digital health services, ensuring compliance with health information legislation, privacy standards, and security directives.
The consultant will play a key role in identifying privacy risks early, ensuring compliance obligations are met, and enabling smooth delivery of initiatives without delays related to privacy or security concerns.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison between privacy, data access, and program teams to support implementation of privacy and security processes in digital health initiatives
- Lead and support updates to organizational Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) to maintain enterprise-level compliance
- Provide ongoing privacy and security oversight for high-profile initiatives, including intake assessments, PIA support, and governance participation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conduct privacy and security assessments, including threat risk assessments
- Evaluate the impact of health information legislation and related policies on new technology implementations
- Develop privacy and security materials and guidance to support implementation of digital health technologies
- Support planning and execution of privacy and security deliverables across multiple projects and streams
- Ensure alignment of privacy and security processes with applicable legislation and evolving policy frameworks
- Advise stakeholders on compliance requirements and risk mitigation strategies
- Ensure proper handling of sensitive health and personal information in accordance with legal and policy requirements
- Provide timely guidance to project teams and program areas on privacy and security matters
- Develop and deliver internal training materials to enhance organizational capability in PIA development and privacy practices
- Create guidance documentation for emerging technologies (e.g., Responsible AI), ensuring compliance and risk-informed adoption
- Support continuous improvement of privacy-by-design practices across programs
- Bachelor s degree in Business, Information Management, Health Informatics, or a related field
- 8 years of experience in business consulting, privacy, or security roles
- Demonstrated experience with health information privacy legislation and compliance frameworks
- Strong experience in Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and threat risk assessments
- Experience working on large-scale digital or eHealth initiatives
- Knowledge of information management policies and security standards
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and communication skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
- Experience within healthcare or public sector environments
- Certification in privacy, security, or business analysis (e.g., CIPP, CISSP, CBAP)
- Familiarity with Responsible AI frameworks and emerging technology governance
- Experience delivering training or developing instructional materials
- Work Model: Hybrid (primarily remote with occasional in-person requirements)
- Work Hours: 8 hours/day, Monday to Friday, within standard business hours (08:00 17:00 local time)
