Backend Engineer

W2 Contract-to-Hire

Pay Rate: $70 - $80 per hour

Location: Dublin, CA - Hybrid Role

Job Summary:

Owns backend modernization, including business logic, APIs, and integration using AI-assisted artifacts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop Spring Boot services from reverse-engineered artifacts (entity, module, validations)
• Translate business rules and functional specs into scalable backend services
• Design and implement REST APIs based on OpenAPI specs
• Handle data modeling, transactions, and validations
• Integrate with databases (Oracle or similar)
• Use Copilot to accelerate code generation and refactoring
• Implement unit and integration testing
• Collaborate with frontend and DevOps for deployment readiness
  
  

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Strong Java Spring Boot experience
• Experience in API design (REST/OpenAPI)
• Strong understanding of data modeling and transactions
• Experience in legacy modernization / re-platforming
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development (Copilot)
• Familiarity with Azure Experience
• Exposure to RAG / Vector DB / Agentic systems (good to have, not mandatory)
