Backend Engineer
W2 Contract-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $70 - $80 per hour
Location: Dublin, CA - Hybrid Role
Job Summary:
Owns backend modernization, including business logic, APIs, and integration using AI-assisted artifacts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop Spring Boot services from reverse-engineered artifacts (entity, module, validations)
- Translate business rules and functional specs into scalable backend services
- Design and implement REST APIs based on OpenAPI specs
- Handle data modeling, transactions, and validations
- Integrate with databases (Oracle or similar)
- Use Copilot to accelerate code generation and refactoring
- Implement unit and integration testing
- Collaborate with frontend and DevOps for deployment readiness
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Strong Java Spring Boot experience
- Experience in API design (REST/OpenAPI)
- Strong understanding of data modeling and transactions
- Experience in legacy modernization / re-platforming
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development (Copilot)
- Familiarity with Azure Experience
- Exposure to RAG / Vector DB / Agentic systems (good to have, not mandatory)
