What does a successful Application Support Engineer do at Client?
You will be responsible for ensuring the resolution of problems related to highly complex systems operations for the Signature core account processing platform, including its integration with critical surround applications. Your expertise will be vital in providing top-level support and coordinating unique troubleshooting efforts.
What you will do:
Provide expertise and coordinate complex technical troubleshooting efforts with clients, implementation teams, engineering, development, and operations staff.
Resolve deployment-related issues for clients and internal resources in test and production environments.
Perform risk assessments throughout the implementation lifecycle up to live production.
Interface with technical development resources and internal client services personnel to determine the nature of non-routine problems and implement remedial procedures.
Consult on complex projects involving existing applications, process flows, and overall operating systems.
Install new software release upgrades into test and production environments.
Review new designs, enhancements, and programs with systems analysts and applications programming personnel for operating efficiencies.
Interact with external and internal clients for data gathering, assisting with solution design, and ensuring the development of solutions that meet or exceed client expectations.
What you will need to have:
6 years of experience with ISeries/AS400 systems.
6 years of experience with RPG programming.
3 years of proven experience working in a complex banking operations or financial services environment.
What would be great to have:
Experience with DB2/SQL database structures.
Strong knowledge of emerging technologies in the financial data processing industry.
Strong knowledge of software and hardware interactions.
Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills, with a capability to provide ideal solutions.
Strong organizational skills and adaptability.
Strong written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills.
Other Requirements:
Must be able to work on-call on a rotational basis.
