Job Summary:
Cognizant is seeking a highly experienced Senior DevOps Engineer who will manage day-to-day DevOps operations and support modern cloud-native applications. The role involves building scalable CI/CD pipelines and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure high availability, performance, and security of systems.
Responsibilities:
• Design, build, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab, and GitHub Actions to streamline software delivery.
• Implement and manage infrastructure using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible to provision and configure cloud resources.
• Containerize applications using Docker and orchestrate them with Kubernetes (EKS or similar), following best practices for image optimization, security, and resource management.
• Provision, monitor, and optimize cloud resources on Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or other major cloud providers.
• Set up and maintain observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, and Splunk for centralized monitoring and log analysis.
• Enforce security best practices across infrastructure and applications, including network security, access control, and compliance requirements.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response, resolving critical production issues efficiently.
• Work with development and operations teams to improve application performance, reliability, and deployment workflows.
• Continuously evaluate and implement new tools and technologies to enhance automation, scalability, and system resilience.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 5–10 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or cloud engineering roles.
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience with Java or Python for automation and tool development.
• Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions).
• Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
• Familiarity with Kafka client concepts (Producer/Consumer) and ability to install/configure Kafka on-prem and in Confluent Cloud.
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, and Splunk.
• Strong understanding of cloud security best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred:
• Experience with Google Anthos.
• Background in Healthcare or Pharmacy domains.
• Familiarity with Splunk-O Monitoring Tool.
