Job Summary:
Comcast is a Fortune 30 global media and technology company seeking a Software Test Engineer for their VIPER Linear Test team. This role involves validating video product quality through automation and manual testing, collaborating with engineers, and maintaining automation scripts.
Responsibilities:
• Create simple queries for database validation and write automated scripts for SOAP and RESTful APIs.
• Create automated testing documentation, including test plans and reports.
• Execute automated test scripts and share the results with stakeholders and teammates.
• Perform manual testing as needed in areas not yet automated.
• Drive technical impact and strategy for a medium sized platform/area.
• Use sound judgement and autonomy in making decisions.
• Experience with AI in testing and automation is a plus.

Qualifications:
Required:
• Proficiency in test automation, including API testing (SOAP/REST) and SQL-based database validation
• Proficiency with modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Go) and version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN)
• Comfortable collaborating across teams and communicating technical findings clearly
• Ability to mentor others and contribute to technical strategy and decision-making
• Growth mindset with a passion for learning and adapting in a dynamic environment
• Bachelor's Degree
• 7-10 Years of Relevant Work Experience
Preferred:
• 5–7 years of experience in test automation or software quality engineering preferred, but we’re open to strong candidates with less experience who demonstrate the right skills and mindset
• Familiarity with video technologies (QAM/IP Linear) and AI in testing is a plus, but not required
• Experience with Agile practices such as Scrum, backlog grooming, and sprint planning
