Job Summary:
Northrop Grumman is a leader in technological advancements and is seeking Embedded Software Engineers for the Flight / Guidance Navigation & Control (GN&C) Software Team. The role involves designing, developing, documenting, testing, and debugging software/system applications for safety and mission-critical software, while collaborating with a team of software engineers in an Agile environment.
Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, document, test, and debug software/system applications.
• Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of embedded systems for safety and mission critical software.
• Must be able to work and collaborate with a team of software engineers in an Agile environment to meet critical milestones.
• Ensure program mandated software standards and compliance criteria are met.
• Understand and can develop in a continuous integration tool chain environment meeting technical and compliance requirements.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Active Secret Clearance: Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need.
• T2 Embedded Software Engineer: 02 Years with Bachelors in a STEM discipline; 00 Years with Masters
• T3 Principal Embedded Software Engineer: 05 Years with Bachelors in a STEM discipline; 03 Years with Masters, 01 Year with PhD
• Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 6 years.
• US Citizenship with Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP)
• 2 year experience in developing software/writing code in C/C /C#, Python, Java, or similar programming language
• 2 year experience in object-oriented programming and design patterns, hardware/software communication interfaces, real-time and post processing data analytics
• 2 years of full life cycle of software development and Agile software development
Preferred:
• Experience developing software for a hard real time system or hardware devices
• Experience developing or debugging software targeted for an embedded system
• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite
• Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering using Cameo
• Experience with IBM Rational tool suite (DOORS)
• Experience developing ICDs and defining interfaces in an MBSE environment
• Familiarity with CSSAM / RVAM Governance
