Job Summary:
Gibson Electric is a leading provider of electrical construction, service, and maintenance. They are seeking a Safety Engineer to work closely with the Safety Quality Productivity Manager and field supervision, ensuring compliance with safety plans and standards while monitoring job sites and coordinating training efforts.
Responsibilities:
• Visit job sites and monitor the work environment.
• Intake, review and organize electronic and paper files as they relate to job site safety reporting requirements.
• Work with field supervision on site specific training.
• Review project implementation of the safety plan and gather data on project execution.
• Coordinate with project managers and other project leads following project execution.
• Liaise with project lead and other project managers to maintain project safety standards.
• Assist in preparing Job Hazard Analyses.
• Participate in daily huddles.
• Represent company in assigned project meetings and industry events.
• Support field supervision to drive compliance with safety plans, programs and work rules as required by Company policy and contracts.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Four-year Occupational Safety degree or a degree in a related field. The equivalent combined education and field experience will also be considered.
• Interest in obtaining BCSP designation (CHST, ASP, CSP).
• Must have strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to identify deficiencies, confront problems and work as a team to a solution.
• Working knowledge of tool and product safety.
• Working knowledge of electrical design and construction concepts.
• Ability to thoroughly understand and apply company policies, procedures, business ethics, and work.
• Superior communications and interpersonal skills.
• An ability to learn new software for employee training required.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and perform against accelerated deadlines.
