Position Summary
The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records, and assisting with month-end close activities. This role works closely with the accounting team to maintain compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, journal entries, and account reconciliations
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts
Support financial reporting and variance analysis
Assist with audits by preparing schedules and documentation
Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP
Support budgeting and forecasting activities as needed
Collaborate with internal departments to resolve accounting discrepancies
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2–5 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred
Knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles
Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with ERP or accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle)
Public accounting experience a plus
CPA or CPA-track preferred but not required
