We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Staff Accountant to join our team. This role is pivotal in the financial operations of our organization, and we are looking for someone who is meticulous, proactive, and dedicated. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, reconciling bank statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and prepare comprehensive financial reports.
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
• Perform monthly closing tasks and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Provide support during audits by preparing the necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
• Prepare and post journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
• Accurately process payrolls for all employees, ensuring timely and correct payment.
• Handle payroll-related inquiries and resolve issues effectively.
• Maintain and review timekeeping records, ensuring all hours worked are accurately recorded and approved.
• Maintain and update payroll records, including employee information, hours worked, and wages.
• Coordinate with HR to ensure accurate employee data for payroll processing.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of employee payroll information.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
  
  

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with utmost confidentiality.
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
• Solid understanding of payroll processes and regulations.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
