We are seeking a proficient Permanent Sheet Metal Estimator to join our dynamic team in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will be an experienced, detail-oriented professional with a strong background in preconstruction estimating, particularly in the area of sheet metal. This role requires a deep understanding of bid documents, QuickPen, and other estimating software. The successful candidate will have the ability to develop RFI, process RFQ's, and take off preconstruction, along with a proven track record as a commercial construction estimator.

We are seeking a proficient Permanent Sheet Metal Estimator to join our dynamic team in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will be an experienced, detail-oriented professional with a strong background in preconstruction estimating, particularly in the area of sheet metal. This role requires a deep understanding of bid documents, QuickPen, and other estimating software. The successful candidate will have the ability to develop RFI, process RFQ's, and take off preconstruction, along with a proven track record as a commercial construction estimator.
Responsibilities
- Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and other related documents to create comprehensive cost estimates for sheet metal projects.
- Utilize QuickPen and other estimating software to accurately estimate labor, material, and equipment costs.
- Prepare and submit competitive project bid proposals, ensuring all aspects of the project are accounted for and the bid is submitted in a timely manner.
- Develop and process RFIs and RFQs, coordinating with project managers, engineers, and vendors as necessary.
- Conduct preconstruction take-offs and create detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects.
- Collaborate with project teams to understand and manage client expectations, ensuring all estimates meet client needs and budget constraints.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest industry trends, materials, and construction methods to ensure the most accurate and competitive estimates.
- Participate in bid negotiations, providing detailed breakdowns and justifications for cost estimates when required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Sheet Metal Estimator in the construction industry.
- Proficiency with estimating software such as QuickPen.
- Extensive experience in preconstruction estimating, with a focus on sheet metal projects.
- Familiarity with bid documents, RFIs, RFQs, and other related project documentation.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills, with an ability to create accurate cost estimates.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with an ability to clearly explain and justify cost estimates.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of current industry trends, materials, and construction methods.
- A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
