Salary: $110,000 - $120,000 per year
A bit about us:
We provides stand-alone structural steel fabrication for new design-specific multi-story buildings, seismic upgrades and retrofits to existing structures, and miscellaneous metals applications.

Responsibilities:
1. Review bid invitations, drawings, and specifications to determine project scope and requirements
2. Prepare detailed takeoffs for structural steel, miscellaneous metals, and related materials
3. Prepare estimate prices on change orders on existing contracts assuring proper accounting
4. Read and understand job bid instructions and detailed specifications
5. Estimate all necessary labor, materials, buyout items and equipment costs
6. Analyze historical data and current market pricing to ensure competitive and accurate bids
7. Ensure projects meet cost requirements
8. Meet with Sr. Project Manager if costs exceed budget and obtain permission before approving out-of-budget costs
9. Interface with necessary department and subcontractors to determine the scheduling of work and materials
10. Coordinate with Purchasing to obtain vendor and subcontractor pricing
11. Meet with key personnel to ensure timelines of each project
12. Participate in pre-bid meetings, scope reviews, and post-bid negotiations
13. Meet and confer with Owner, Architect, Engineers, Contractors, Detailers, Plant & Field crews to verify accuracy & completeness of all construction drawings
14. Reviews plans and proposals to determine proper procedures in order to accomplish company goals
15. Ensure all aspects of projects are properly and thoroughly documented to ensure our interests are protected
16. Implementation of goals to increase our Steel Fab, Inc.’s reputation with General Contractors.
Qualifications:
1. 7 years of hands-on estimating experience
2. Ability to prepare accurate, competitive bids for structural steel fabrication
3. Ability to perform detailed takeoffs and develop full cost estimates
4. Proficient with estimating software such as FabSuite, FabTrol, Tekla EPM, or similar
5. Solid understanding of AISC standards and fabrication processes
6. Experience working collaboratively with project management, and production teams.
