Job Details

About the Project:
We are seeking an experienced Sr. Capital Project Manager to lead a significant greenfield expansion project adjacent to an existing steel mill. This project involves constructing three main steel processing areas along with supporting utilities, including cooling water systems, boiler installations, and air compressor stations.
Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the entire project lifecycle from site development through civil/structural building construction to complete process line installation, culminating in handover for commissioning
• Oversee and coordinate all aspects of the capital project, including budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management
• Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project goals are met on time and within budget
• Implement and maintain project control systems to monitor progress, costs, and quality
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies
• Lead and motivate project teams, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
  

Qualifications:

• Proven experience managing capital expenditure (CapEx) projects exceeding $300 million in value
• Strong background in steel industry projects; experience in oil/gas, pulp/paper, or mining/metals industries will also be considered
• Demonstrated expertise in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) project delivery methods
• Experience with self-perform construction management
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; advanced degree preferred
• Professional certifications such as PMP, PE, or equivalent are highly desirable
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in project management software and tools
  

Preferred Experience:

• 10 years of progressive experience in large-scale industrial construction projects
• Track record of successful project completion within steel or related heavy industries
• Familiarity with international construction standards and best practices
