Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all preconstruction phases of projects, ensuring that plans are in alignment with project goals, client needs, and company standards.
- Conduct thorough project bidding processes to select suitable contractors and suppliers, while ensuring cost-effectiveness.
- Develop comprehensive project estimates and budgets, taking into account all potential costs and contingencies.
- Utilize your expertise in cost management to monitor and control project costs, ensuring that projects remain within budget.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other construction professionals to ensure that all plans are feasible and can be executed efficiently.
- Review and approve project designs and plans, ensuring that they meet all regulatory standards and requirements.
- Provide expert advice on construction strategies and risk assessment, helping to prevent potential issues before they arise.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure that all preconstruction activities are completed on time and within budget.
- Continually monitor industry trends, technologies, and best practices, implementing them where appropriate to improve our preconstruction processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a preconstruction management or similar role, preferably in the construction industry.
- Proven experience with project bidding, project estimation, cost management, construction management, and budgeting.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information to a variety of stakeholders.
- Proficiency with construction management software and other relevant technology.
- PMP or similar certification would be a plus.
