This role is pivotal to our operation, ensuring that our manufacturing plant runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in plant maintenance, with a deep understanding of industrial equipment and a passion for continuous improvement. While experience in the food industry is preferred, we welcome applicants from all sectors within the consumer products manufacturing industry. Job Details

Responsibilities

• Oversee the maintenance and repair of all plant machinery and equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
• Develop and implement a robust preventative maintenance program, focusing on proactive measures to minimize potential equipment failures.
• Lead, train, and develop a team of maintenance technicians, fostering a culture of teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Work closely with other department heads to coordinate maintenance schedules, reducing disruption to the production process.
• Manage the budget for the maintenance department, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
• Continuously evaluate the efficiency of our operations and implement improvements where necessary.
• Liaise with external contractors and suppliers, ensuring the timely delivery of services and parts.
• Prepare regular reports for senior management, detailing maintenance activities, equipment status, and improvement initiatives.
  
  

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years' experience in plant maintenance within the manufacturing industry.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
• Extensive knowledge of industrial equipment and machinery.
• Experience in the food manufacturing industry is preferred, but not essential.
• Proven track record in implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues quickly and effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise with staff at all levels.
• Proficiency in using maintenance management software.
• A degree in Engineering, or a related field, is preferred.
• Certification in Health and Safety regulations is desirable.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety within the plant.
