Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of civil litigation including drafting pleadings, conducting depositions, discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and appellate work.
- Provide legal advice and guidance on a wide range of civil litigation matters.
- Collaborate with a team of attorneys and support staff to develop a strategic approach to each case.
- Represent clients in court or before government agencies, presenting evidence to defend clients or prosecute defendants in civil litigation.
- Evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases.
- Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses.
- Prepare and draft legal documents, such as wills, deeds, patent applications, mortgages, leases, and contracts.
- Conduct pre-trial preparations, handle settlements and assist in trial proceedings.
- Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law.
- Maintain professional competency through continuing education and professional growth.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to practice in the state and in good standing with the state bar.
- Minimum of 5 years of civil litigation experience.
- Exceptional analytical skills and a strong understanding of civil litigation process and procedures.
- Proven track record of managing a large caseload, producing quality work in a fast-paced environment, and meeting deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to resolve conflicts.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
- High ethical standards and professionalism in dealing with clients, colleagues, and the court.
