Currently, we have a need for a motivated and detail-oriented Litigation Associate to join our Sarasota office. Responsibilities
- Manage litigation matters through various stages of the litigation process
- Draft pleadings, motions, memoranda, discovery requests and responses, and other legal documents
- Conduct legal research and analyze complex legal issues
- Assist with case strategy, trial preparation, and motion practice
- Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
- Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and witnesses
- Review and analyze medical, financial, corporate, and technical records as applicable
- Maintain case files and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborate with attorneys across multiple practice groups and offices
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Admission to the Florida Bar required
- Minimum of 2 years of litigation experience
- Prior defense litigation experience preferred
- Florida state and/or federal court litigation experience strongly preferred
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Strong oral advocacy and interpersonal communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines effectively
- Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and sound professional judgment
Experience in one or more of the following areas is a plus:
- Commercial litigation
- Construction litigation
- Insurance defense
- Labor & employment litigation
- Professional liability
- Business disputes
