Responsibilities
- Assisting attorneys with all aspects of litigation including discovery, court filings, and trial preparation.
- Utilizing e-file systems to ensure accurate and timely filing of legal documents.
- Conducting thorough legal research and analysis to support case development and strategy.
- Providing litigation support by preparing discovery responses and objections.
- Reviewing and summarizing medical records and other case-related documents.
- Managing time entries and billing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintaining an organized calendar of case deadlines, court dates, and other important events.
- Collaborating with attorneys, clients, and other parties to ensure effective communication and case progression.
- Performing administrative tasks such as document management, correspondence, and client intake as needed.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in insurance defense.
- Proficiency in e-filing and other legal software.
- Strong legal research skills with the ability to analyze complex legal materials.
- Experience in litigation support, including preparing discovery responses and objections.
- Familiarity with medical records and the ability to accurately summarize pertinent information.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage a busy calendar and meet deadlines.
- Experience with time entries and billing in a legal setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A proactive approach to work, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A paralegal certification or equivalent legal qualification is preferred.
