We are seeking an Insurance Defense Associate Attorney to join our in office litigation team and support a busy insurance defense practice.
Job Description
- Handle insurance defense matters from intake through resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, reports, and correspondence
- Manage written discovery and document review
- Attend court conferences, hearings, depositions, and mediations
- Work directly with insurance carriers, insured clients, opposing counsel, and experts
- Analyze liability, damages, and case strategy
- Prepare cases for settlement, arbitration, and trial
- Maintain strong communication with clients and internal team members
- Meet a 2,080 annual billable hour requirement
- Juris Doctor and active bar admission in New York, New Jersey, or Pennsylvania
- 2 years of insurance defense or civil litigation experience required
- Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills
- Experience with discovery, motion practice, court appearances, and depositions preferred
- Ability to manage a busy caseload with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working in office
- Insurance defense, general liability, auto liability, or premises liability experience is a plus
