Position Summary:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate GNA Instructor to provide high-quality classroom and clinical instruction for Geriatric Nursing Assistant students. This role is responsible for preparing students to meet state certification requirements while fostering the skills, professionalism, and compassion needed to provide excellent resident care in long-term care settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver instructional content aligned with state-approved GNA curriculum
- Provide classroom, lab, and clinical instruction to GNA students
- Supervise and evaluate students during clinical training experiences
- Ensure students meet competency requirements for certification
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and clinical performance
- Prepare students for state GNA certification exams
- Ensure compliance with state board of nursing and training regulations
- Create a supportive and engaging learning environment
- Collaborate with clinical sites and facility leadership for student placements
- Stay current on best practices in geriatric care and nursing education
- Active RN license in good standing (state-specific) required
- Minimum required clinical experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing (per state regulations)
- Prior teaching, precepting, or training experience preferred
- Strong communication, leadership, and mentoring skills
- Ability to manage classroom and clinical learning environments effectively
- Knowledge of GNA/CNA curriculum and certification standards
- Full-time position: 40 hours per week on call
