Job Details
Responsibilities
- Draft and review estate planning documents, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and related instruments
- Advise clients on estate, gift, generation-skipping transfer (GST), and income tax planning strategies
- Design and implement wealth transfer plans for high-net-worth individuals and families
- Handle estate and trust administration matters, including probate proceedings and fiduciary guidance
- Collaborate with attorneys in corporate, real estate, and tax practices on integrated planning matters
- Communicate directly with clients, financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals
- Stay current on changes in estate planning, tax laws, and regulatory developments
- Contribute to business development, client retention, and firm marketing efforts as appropriate
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active license and good standing with the [State] Bar
- 4 years of experience in estate planning and trust administration
- Strong knowledge of federal and state estate, gift, and income tax laws
- Experience working with high-net-worth clients preferred
- Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters independently while working collaboratively in a team environment
- LL.M. in Taxation
- Experience with advanced planning techniques (e.g., GRATs, SLATs, ILITs, charitable planning)
- Exposure to business succession planning
- Prior experience in a multi-practice or full-service law firm
