Job Details
Responsibilities -
- Lead and manage the estimating and preconstruction department
- Oversee all structural steel estimates from conceptual through final pricing
- Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents for scope and risk
- Develop accurate material, labor, and equipment takeoffs
- Establish estimating standards, workflows, and best practices
- Collaborate closely with project management, detailing, and operations teams
- Participate in bid strategy, project selection, and client negotiations
- Mentor and develop estimators to strengthen long term department performance
- Extensive experience in structural steel estimating
- Proven leadership experience managing estimating or preconstruction teams
- Strong understanding of fabrication, erection, and steel market pricing
- Ability to evaluate risk, value engineering options, and constructability
- Excellent communication and decision making skills
- Comfortable working full time in an office environment
