We are currently seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Permanent Cost Accountant to join our dynamic Accounting and Finance team. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to our thriving organization's financial health by managing and optimizing our cost structures. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in analyzing manufacturing costs, providing detailed reports, and suggesting changes to enhance profitability. This role requires a deep understanding of manufacturing accounting, general ledger (GL) management, and cost reduction strategies.

Responsibilities:

• Managing and overseeing all aspects of our cost accounting system and practices.
• Analyzing and interpreting complex manufacturing costs and preparing detailed reports to be presented to management.
• Conducting regular audits to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger.
• Implementing cost standards for materials and labor.
• Assisting in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Identifying and executing cost reduction opportunities across the organization.
• Collaborating with various departments, including production and supply chain, to gather necessary data for cost analysis.
• Maintaining internal control documentation and testing internal controls.
• Preparing monthly and quarterly accounting reports for submission to management.
• Conducting inventory reserve analysis on a quarterly basis and generating reports for management.
• Assisting in month end close of the General Ledger.
• Conducting research and performing analytical studies in regards to cost analyses and profitability.
  

Qualifications:

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Cost Accountant, Cost Analyst, or similar role.
• Extensive knowledge of cost accounting principles and procedures.
• Proficiency in manufacturing accounting, GL, and cost reduction.
• Exceptional proficiency with MS Office and accounting software, preferably within our current system.
• Excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• CPA or CMA certification preferred.
