Responsibilities
As a Controller, you will be responsible for
- Overseeing all financial and accounting operations, including the review and approval of ledger reconciliation and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
- Leading the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insightful analysis, and making strategic recommendations to top management.
- Preparing and publishing timely and accurate financial statements, coordinating the preparation of regulatory reporting, and ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Collaborating with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
- Evaluating and managing risk, performing effective risk management, and proactively addressing any financial issues that may arise.
- Managing and complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
The ideal candidate for the Controller position should possess the following qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. An MBA, CPA, or related certification is highly preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of accounting and finance experience with management experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and direct a team.
- Excellent analytical skills with a thorough understanding of financial trends and business practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and experience with a software system implementation.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly convey financial information and complex financial concepts to non-financial managers.
- High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
