Job Details
Responsibilities:
Develop and optimize CNC programs for turning, milling, and drilling operations on aerospace-grade fasteners.
Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machining sequences based on material properties and part specifications.
Utilize CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, NX, Fusion 360) to interpret engineering drawings and translate 3D models into CNC code (G-code).
Collaborate with design and engineering teams to resolve manufacturability issues.
Provide detailed setup sheets and tooling instructions for CNC operators.
Assist with machine setup during initial runs to ensure accurate part production.
Continuously improve cycle times, tool life, and machine efficiency while maintaining aerospace quality standards.
Analyze and troubleshoot CNC programs and machining issues, modifying code as needed.
Maintain accurate records of CNC programs, revision histories, and tooling data.
Work with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure smooth job flow.
Support prototype and low-volume production runs for new aerospace fastener designs.
Recommend and select specialized tooling for high-strength materials like Inconel, titanium, and aerospace-grade stainless steels.
Ensure adherence to safety regulations and stay current on aerospace machining standards.
Experience Required:
Minimum 5 years of experience as a CNC Operator, Programmer, or similar role in a precision manufacturing environment.
Proven proficiency in operating CNC machinery, including mills, lathes, and logic controllers.
Strong hands-on skills in machining, milling, and machine operation.
Ability to perform quality control checks and interpret measurement data accurately.
In-depth knowledge of CNC machines, tooling, and fixture setup.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications.
Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
Familiarity with machining tight tolerances and aerospace materials (e.g., titanium, Inconel, stainless steel) preferred.
Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360) preferred.
Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
