We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Permanent Accountant to join our dynamic Accounting Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to apply their expertise in account reconciliation, general ledger management, month-end close, journal entries, and more. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling both Accounts Payable and Receivable, and should be proficient in Excel, Paychex, and ADP. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Accountant, your key responsibilities will include:
1. Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department including: accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll and utilities, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, check runs, fixed asset activity, debt activity etc.
2. Monitoring and analyzing accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
3. Establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
4. Coordinate and complete annual audits.
5. Provide recommendations for improving systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
6. Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy.
7. Meet financial accounting objectives.
8. Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.
9. Support budget and forecasting activities.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. A minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role.
2. Proven experience in account reconciliation, general ledger management, month-end close, and journal entries.
3. Proficiency in Excel, Paychex, and ADP.
4. An ability to manage, guide, and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used.
5. A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles.
6. Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations.
7. Excellent organizational, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. High attention to detail and accuracy.
