We are currently seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and experienced 5-axis CNC Machinist for a permanent position in our fast-paced Manufacturing unit. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a team of dedicated professionals with a focus on quality and precision. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating 5-axis CNC machines to produce high-quality parts and tools from metal, plastic, or other materials.
Responsibilities:
1. Set up and operate 5-axis CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling, etc.
2. Understand specifications of the task at hand by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, etc.
3. Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct functions.
4. Inspect and measure finished products to ensure they meet requirements.
5. Test operation of machines periodically to guarantee their smooth running.
6. Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality.
7. Adhere to all safety protocol, including use of protective equipment and ensuring machines are used correctly.
8. Troubleshoot and resolve machine-related issues in a timely manner.
9. Maintain a clean and safe workspace, and comply with all safety and quality checks and practices.
10. Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to keep current on best practices and new technology.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years' experience as a 5-axis CNC Machinist in a manufacturing environment.
2. Extensive knowledge of the operating and setting up 4 5-axis CNC machines.
3. Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical documents and blueprints.
4. Skilled in using precision tools, machinery, and equipment such as calipers, micrometers, etc.
5. Excellent knowledge of the properties of metal and other material.
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with a high level of attention to detail.
7. Strong mathematical and analytical abilities.
8. Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
9. Good physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items and work overtime.
10. High school diploma or equivalent; completion of vocational training or an apprenticeship in the field will be an advantage.
11. Technical certification or relevant licensing is a plus.
