- Diagnose and treat diseases and injuries of human internal organ systems.
- Provide preventive and therapeutic treatment of primary care needs, including chronic disease management, of patients through routine physical examination testing and non-invasive treatment.
- Evaluate patients' records from medical providers outside the VA and work with these patients utilizing rules set forth by the VA for co-managed care.
- Complete the documentation of the medical record within 24 hours of a patient encounter.
- Solicit medical management consult or input when appropriate.
- Address the clinical needs of all walk-in/triage/urgent care patients.
Requirements
- 4 years clinical medical practice; government healthcare environment preferred;
- Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine Degree;
- Board certified in family practice or internal medicine;
- Credentialed and remain in good standing through the Veterans Health Administration (VA).
- ACLS certification as specified by individual VAMC contract;
- Current, unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration;
- Proficiency in written and spoken English;
- Excellent computer skills.
