Job Summary:
We are seeking an exceptional Care and Support Specialist to lead the Neurodiverse Ministry within the Kids and Student Ministries at EastLake Church. This role requires a deep understanding of neurodiversity and experience working with children and students with diverse needs.
The successful candidate will possess excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills, as well as the ability to educate and train volunteers and staff effectively. They will be responsible for recruiting, processing, and training volunteer teams, developing sensory rooms, and providing pastoral care for families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Care and Support: Provide care and advocacy for families impacted by disabilities, ensuring parents can connect with Jesus and community during service.
- Volunteer Management: Recruit, process, and train volunteer teams dedicated to supporting the unique needs of neurodiverse kids/students.
- Event Planning: Plan and execute events designed to equip, train, and recharge parents of the Hand Over Hand Ministry.
- Sensory Room Development: Develop, maintain, and staff classroom environments tailored to the unique needs of neurodiverse kids/students who require separate spaces during service.
- Staff Training: Provide training for church staff on neurodiversity and inclusive practices.
- Partnership: Partner with various departments to ensure a unified approach to serving neurodiverse families.
