Job Title: Quality Technician
Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Duration: 24-month contract
Pay Rate: $25.37/hour
Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Technician to support inspection and quality assurance processes for precision-machined components. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a manufacturing environment and be proficient in advanced metrology and inspection techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform mechanical inspection of precision-machined components
- Operate advanced metrology equipment such as CMM (optical and touch probe), interferometers, and laser micrometers
- Conduct calibration of metrology equipment
- Support CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) processes, including Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and documentation
- Ensure accurate and thorough documentation of inspection results
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interpret engineering specifications, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Proven experience in a quality control (QC) and manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
- Experience with CAPA, root cause analysis, and Kaizen (continuous improvement / PDCA)
- Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, and/or FDA regulations
Highly Desired Skills & Experience:
- Advanced metrology experience
- Programmable optical measurement tools (optical CMM)
- Keyence image measurement systems
- Interferometry for surface finish and form analysis
- Laser micrometer operation
