This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced customs and trade professional to play a strategic advisory role in the evolving world of international trade compliance. The position combines technical expertise with client engagement, allowing you to act as a trusted advisor on Canadian customs regulations and import processes. Working in a fully remote environment, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance, mitigate risks, and drive process improvements. \n- Serve as the subject matter expert on Canadian customs regulations, CBSA requirements, and entry filing processes.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing guidance on regulatory requirements and ensuring an exceptional service experience.
- Analyze customs data, import documentation, and regulatory information to support compliant and informed decision-making.
- Manage multiple projects of moderate complexity, ensuring timely, accurate, and high-quality deliverables.
- Develop, monitor, and present compliance metrics and performance reports to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Identify potential compliance risks, recommend corrective actions, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with operations, compliance, and regulatory teams to resolve issues and optimize customs processes.
- Stay informed on regulatory updates, industry developments, and CBSA policy changes to proactively advise stakeholders.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Canadian customs compliance, CBSA regulations, and Canadian entry filing processes.
- Strong understanding of import procedures, tariff classification, customs documentation, and regulatory frameworks.
- Previous experience in a client-facing, consulting, or advisory capacity is highly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience is preferred.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex regulatory information.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with a customer-focused mindset.
- Demonstrated collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
