What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Operator - 1st Shift position at JobConnection Services, Inc.?
We are urgently seeking a reliable Machine Operator to support our filling line production environment. This role is ideal for someone mechanically inclined who can perform machine setups, adjustments, and basic troubleshooting and communicate effectively with technical engineers when more complex issues arise. This is not an engineering role, but it does require someone comfortable working with equipment, diagnosing simple issues, and keeping production running smoothly.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM Starting Pay: $16/hour
Key Responsibilities
- Machine setup — Prepare and configure production equipment at the start of each run
- Adjustments & changeovers — Make routine mechanical adjustments and complete product changeovers
- Troubleshooting — Identify basic mechanical issues and communicate effectively with engineers when escalation is needed
- Production monitoring — Maintain efficient production flow and minimize downtime
- Quality checks — Ensure equipment is running within required specifications
- Preventive care — Perform simple maintenance tasks to keep equipment in good working order
Required Skills & Experience
- Mechanical aptitude — Ability to understand how machines operate and perform hands‐on adjustments
- Manufacturing experience — Prior experience in a production or industrial environment preferred
- Communication skills — Able to clearly describe issues to technical engineers and supervisors
- Reliability — Consistent attendance and strong work ethic
- Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast‐paced environment
