Position Summary
As an established MSP, we are seeking an elite Senior Systems & Network Engineer to serve as the highest level of technical escalation and a key architect for our client environments. In this role, you will tackle the most complex infrastructure "roadblocks" that Level 1 and 2 technicians cannot resolve. You will also lead high-impact professional services projects, including cloud migrations, network redesigns, and cybersecurity hardening. This is a full-time hybrid role for a MSP Level 3-4 IT Engineer/Support Specialist based in Naperville, IL. Responsibilities also include assisting with the deployment, maintenance, and enhancement of IT infrastructure for small to medium-sized businesses, as well as supporting clients in resolving both hardware and software issues in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Tier 3/4 Escalation: Act as the final point of internal escalation for mission-critical issues involving server clusters, complex networking, and cloud-based infrastructure.
- Project Leadership: Design and execute advanced IT projects such as Azure/AWS migrations/MS 365/Sharepoint migrations, server virtualization (Hyper-V), and on-premise server and workstation migrations.
- Advanced Networking: Configure and troubleshoot enterprise-grade firewalls (SonicWall), VLANs, BGP/OSPF routing, and site-to-site VPNs.
- Infrastructure Strategy: Perform "vCIO" style assessments for new and existing clients, identifying security gaps and recommending long-term infrastructure improvements.
- Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and training to Tier 1 and Tier 2 engineers to foster a culture of continuous learning.
- Security & Compliance: Implement and monitor advanced security frameworks, including MFA, conditional access policies, and endpoint detection and response (EDR).
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a fast-paced MSP environment. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Systems Mastery: Expert-level knowledge of Windows Server (2016-2025), Azure AD/Entra ID, and virtualization platforms like Hyper-V. Strong skills in Troubleshooting and Technical Support for diagnosing and resolving complex hardware and software issues.
- Network Expertise: Proven ability to build and secure complex LAN/WAN environments using advanced switching and routing protocols.
- Cloud Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 administration (SharePoint, Teams, Intune) and Azure IaaS.
- Documentation: Ability to maintain meticulous records in PSA/RMM tools (e.g., Tactical RMM, ConnectWise, NinjaOne, IT Glue).
- Communication: Strong communication and client relationship skills

Physical Requirements
