Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee scheduling of sick call, infirmary coverage, environmental health, as well as physical and dental exams in accordance with DOL guidelines.
- Inspect the food service facility and dormitories regularly.
- Develop and maintain an inventory control system for medication, equipment, and medical supplies.
- Conduct inventories of supplies and medications monthly.
- Purchase medication and medical supplies.
- Participate in nurses on-call rotation.
- Function as a staff nurse as needed.
- Collect data and maintain wellness monthly Utilization Reports.
- Plan, organize, and control the use of overtime and on-call staff to ensure compliance with Center and ETR policy and procedures.
Skills And Competencies
- Proven ability to lead and support a team
- Thorough knowledge of nursing techniques and practices
- Knowledge of current state and federal laws regulating health care and patient privacy (HIPPA)
- Strong organizational skills and communication skills both verbal and written
- Familiarity with medical needs of young adults
- Meticulous documentation/recording skills and attention to detail with excellent time management skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-changing environment
- Proficient using a computer software which includes Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.)
- State Licensed Registered Nurse.
- Three years experience as a practicing nurse; one of which was in a lead capacity.
- Must possess a Valid NYS Drivers License with an acceptable driving record.
