Job Title: Registered Nurse (Med Surg / Oncology)
Location: Utica, NY
Shift: 6:30p-7:00 am
Pay Rate: $53-$56/hour

Overview: We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with strong Med-Surg and Oncology experience to provide high-quality patient care across a 56-bed inpatient unit. The RN will manage complex medical conditions including oncology, hematology, ESRD, diabetes, and GI disorders, while administering treatments such as chemotherapy and utilizing specialized equipment. This role requires strong assessment skills, EPIC documentation, and the ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, float between units, and deliver safe, patient-centered care during night shifts.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care to adult patients in Oncology, Hematology, Nephrology, GI, Endocrine, Dermatology, and General Medicine units.
- Administer chemotherapy and other prescribed treatments in compliance with certification and hospital protocols.
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions using EPIC EMR.
- Manage IV therapy and specialty equipment such as IV pumps, NG tubes, chest tubes, and specialty beds.
- Respond to changes in patient condition during night shifts (6:30 PM–7:00 AM).
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to implement and update care plans.
- Float to other units as needed while maintaining safe and effective care.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge instructions.
Qualifications:
- Active New York RN license (and all required state licenses verified through NURSYS).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Med-Surg and Oncology nursing.
- Required travel nursing experience.
- Current AHA BLS certification.
- NIHSS certification required.
- Chemotherapy certification required.
- Experience with EPIC EMR system.
- Strong clinical skills in Oncology, Hematology, and complex medical-surgical care.
- Ability to work night shifts (6:30 PM–7:00 AM) and float between units as needed.
- Up-to-date resume with relevant clinical experience and skills checklist.
- Must meet submission requirements including RTO disclosure and matching demographics/credentials.
