The injection molding machine operator is responsible for the set-up, operation and inspection of all molding activities within the molding department. Responsibilities:
- Setting up and preparing machines using design directions or blueprints for each production run.
- Monitoring production: Ensuring quality during the process.
- Cleaning and performing maintenance on the equipment.
- Collecting and inspecting the parts, and sometimes separating the parts from the runners.
- Adjusting machinery to ensure continuous operation of all processes.
- Performing visual and mechanical quality checks to ensure all production meets quality standards.
- Submitting daily production, quality and equipment reports.
- Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work process, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
- Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at highest quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials.
- Meets the expected production timelines that are required.
- Notifies management of product discrepancies or equipment malfunctions.
- Adheres to established company policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations and cleanliness.
- Completes training requirements as specified in the company training matrix.
- Wear personal protective equipment in accordance with training guidelines.
- Performs other related duties as assigned. Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 5 years’ experience operating injection molding equipment
