An industry leading organization in the industrial manufacturing industry is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist in the greater Chelsea, MI area. This role is responsible for supporting and improving workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and environmental health initiatives within a manufacturing environment. This role partners closely with operations and site leadership to drive a strong safety culture, deliver training programs, support audits, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Promote a positive safety culture through employee engagement, floor presence, safety training, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, incident investigations, root cause analysis, and risk assessments
- Administer EHS training programs, onboarding, compliance tracking, and safety documentation systems
- Support OSHA/regulatory compliance, emergency preparedness activities, and environmental health & safety reporting
- Partner with site leadership to implement proactive safety improvements and maintain audit readiness
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Management, Business, or related field
- 4 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety programs, incident investigation, and risk assessment processes
- Experience conducting training, audits, inspections, and maintaining compliance documentation
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred
Salary : $80,000 - $90,000
