Job Title: Overnight Cleaning Specialist – Veterinary Hospital
Location: Skokie, IL
Schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday
Hours to Start: 10:00 PM – 5:00 AM (cleaning typically takes 2–2.5 hours per night)
Compensation: Flat rate of $250/week
About the Position
We’re seeking a dependable, detail-oriented person to handle overnight cleaning for a 24/7 veterinary hospital. This role is ideal for someone who prefers late-night work and takes pride in maintaining a clean, sanitary, and organized environment.
The hospital operates around the clock, so you’ll be working independently but may be around medical staff and animals during your shift. Training and all cleaning supplies are provided.
Responsibilities
- Clean and disinfect bathrooms, kitchen areas (no dishes), and workspaces
- Wipe and dust desks and surfaces as needed
- Remove trash and replace liners throughout the facility
- Vacuum floors with a backpack vacuum and mop all large areas
- Perform routine tasks according to a cleaning calendar, such as high/low dusting and occasional deep-cleaning of appliances
- Respect restricted areas of the hospital
Requirements
- Comfortable using a backpack vacuum for extended periods
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs (e.g., garbage bags)
- Comfortable working around animals and hospital staff overnight
- Preferably no pet allergies
- Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently
- Prior cleaning or janitorial experience is a plus, but not required—training provided
