Job Title: Overnight Cleaning Specialist – Veterinary Hospital
Location: Northfield, IL
Schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday
Hours: Start between 10:00 PM – 2:00 AM (approx. 5–5.5 hours per night)
Compensation: Flat rate of $550/week
About the Position
We’re looking for a reliable, detail-oriented individual to join our cleaning team at a busy 24/7 veterinary hospital. You’ll play a key role in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our staff, patients, and clients.
This is an independent overnight position, working around hospital staff and animals. Training and all cleaning supplies will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Clean and disinfect bathrooms, kitchens (no dishes), and work areas
- Wipe and dust desks and surfaces as needed
- Empty trash and replace liners in all areas
- Vacuum floors using a backpack vacuum and mop large floor areas
- Perform scheduled deep-cleaning tasks such as high/low dusting, fridge/microwave cleaning, and other assigned duties based on a rotating calendar
- Maintain awareness of restricted areas within the hospital
Requirements
- Must be comfortable wearing and operating a backpack vacuum for extended periods
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs (e.g., garbage bags)
- Comfortable working around animals and staff during nighttime hours
- Preferably no pet allergies
- Reliable, punctual, and self-directed — can work independently with care and consistency
- Experience in commercial or janitorial cleaning is welcome but not required—training provided
