Duties
- Assist with animal husbandry tasks, including feeding, watering, grooming, and general care of livestock such as horses, cattle, or sheep
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, including tractors, harvesters, irrigation systems, and power tools
- Perform equipment repairs and welding as needed to keep machinery in optimal condition
- Manage heavy lifting tasks involving feed bags, supplies, or equipment safely and efficiently
- Support planting, cultivating, watering, and harvesting crops using farming techniques and horticultural practices
- Maintain clean and organized work areas; conduct routine inspections of fences, animal enclosures, and irrigation systems
- Supervise or assist with other farm workers to ensure smooth daily operations and safety compliance
Requirements
- Prior experience in supervising or leading teams on a farm or agricultural setting is preferred
- Mechanical knowledge related to farm machinery and equipment repair is highly desirable
- Hands-on experience with animal husbandry and animal handling techniques required; equine experience is a plus
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts and other power tools safely
- Knowledge of farming practices including irrigation systems, greenhouse management, horticulture, and growing techniques
- Basic math skills for measurements, inventory management, and record keeping
- Willingness to perform heavy lifting regularly and work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong communication skills for teamwork and safety instructions; familiarity with maintenance procedures beneficial
